Nearly Dead Gecko

One of the freezing cold days (before the ice storms) I went to show my dad the handle of our fence gate in to the front yard.  It is on it's last leg and one of the kiddos opened it, and I could not get it shut.  He was going to help me shut it.  As I reached for the gate, I nearly grabbed a gecko that was behind one of the boards except for his hind legs and tail.  It scared me at first.  But he didn't move.  So I poked it. Nothing.  Finally I picked him up (after prying him off the board) and the thing was white and didn't move.  However, I could see his head moving ever so slightly so I knew he was alive and realized that he was freezing to death.  So I put him in a plastic container in our kitchen , covered with press and seal with holes poked in it so he could breathe.  After about 30 minutes this gecko's color returned and he was very much alive.  YAY - I had saved the gecko.  The problem now though... what to do with him.  We've got Julius and nowhere to put this lizard, AND the temps were supposed to remain really cold for another 5 days or so.  UGH!  Well, I switched him to this "luxury apartment" after doing some reading up on geckos.  But still no food for him.  So finally, on monday (I found him Friday) I went to Petco and got some meal worms for him to eat until it warmed up.  he never at the worms, but he survived until Wednesday when we finally let him go.  Good Luck Gecko!
