NCAA Gymnastics Championships

I found out that NCAA Gymnastics Championships were being held in Fort Worth this year.  Needless to say, I got tickets - for me and Jada.  They started on Friday, so Jada got to stay home from school that day, as Utah was in the early session, so we headed out for Fort Worth around 11am.  I wanted to get there a bit early and I wanted to allow for time in case I got lost a bit (which I didn't).  Then, they made super six which was in the evening on Saturday.

Of course, she's listening to her ipod, right?!?

This is what Jada had for dinner Saturday evening (yuck!)  But she loved it.

After the session, we went out and discovered this awesome little park like area right outside of the Fort Worth Convention Center, where the meet was being held.  Jada had a blast exploring!

And since I was getting a bunch of pictures of our princess, I had to get some photos of our newest little guy, since he came with us on Friday.  He stayed home with Daddy on Saturday though.

A cool building in Fort Worth that I had to take a picture of

Mommy and Jada on Saturday night - mommy in her Utah shirt, Jada with her Utah flag.  We had fun.  And it was so fun for me to see that a number of the "biggest" Utah gymnastics fans that were there when I competed, were still there!  They are such amazing people and a lot of fun too!!

This is Ashley and her daughter Lilly.  I competed with Ashley at Utah.  She is from the Austin area - so she too made the short drive to watch the meet.
It was crazy, but Utah took second by .05!  No one could believe it!  It was a really great meet, and I'm especially glad I went because shortly after the meet, Greg Marsden announced that he was retiring from coaching the gymnastics team!  I had said before the meet, that if they won, I wondered if Greg might retire.  Guess, they didn't have to win.  He will be sorely missed, but I'm sure he is not out of the college gymnastics picture by any means.  He just might be onto some bigger things for the sport.  We will see!  Thank you Greg for all that you have done... for so very many people!!!!   And way to go Utes!!!
