These are old pictures of Seth from when he had a reaction to something. I think it was some of the soap I bought - I accidentally bought the stuff with lavendar in it. I didn't mean to, but it was fairly expensive, so I was going to use it anyways. Well, after a couple days, when this happened (as I was washing him with the same soap again, sadly) I noticed all this eczema all over him and some hives or something - that ear just didn't look good to me and it was itching him like crazy.

Took him into the doctor, and sure enough it was an allergic reaction that triggered an eczema outbreak too. So we were dealing with two things at once - ugh! Our poor Seth. As I said though, these were older pictures (that I'd forgotten to post). So, on top of eczema and allergies, for the past nearly 2 years we've still been dealing with nasty Staph infections! Poor Seth got one at the drop of a hat! He had to take baths by himself, use only his towel, the bath had to be bleached before he got in it every time and he was the only one allowed to use the master bath tub! We even had a special soap that surgeons use to disinfect their hands before surgery that we had to use for a couple weeks and then periodically after that. And he would still get nasty staph infections all the time! Finally, I was at the end of my rope and wanted to get a second opinion from an infectious disease doctor but didn't want to go to the same one as before, so I called Dr. Johnson's office to see if they had it recorded who we'd seen. When I called, they actually got me Dr.Johnson on the phone; so I explained that we were still getting staph infections, and now they were up on his eyelids - which I did NOT like at all! Too close to the brain for me! So, he prescribed him some antibiotics and told me to come get a culture kit so he could culture it. I did and the result... MRSA! I couldn't believe it! No wonder he couldn't get rid of this infection! It was a wimpy strain of MRSA, and luckily for us, it was sensitive to the antibiotics that he'd prescribed us. So, FINALLY, we might actually be able to get rid of this once and for all!!!! So, he finished his antibiotics and here we are, several months later, and still no infections!!! Finally, I just know that 5 is going to be a good year for Seth. No more health issues or concerns - at least I'm hoping. He could use a good year with no tests or problems! So could Mommy!
