The tree in our back yard (on the left in the picture) was struggling for a couple years. the growth had been stunted, the bark had split, it was just not doing well. then, I came up with the idea to cut it down and put a fire pit in it's place. I figured with 4 boys doing cub and boy scouts, fires were going to be a big part of our life for the next while. If we had a fire pit, we could do some of the activities at our house! Plus, we would have an excuse to make s'mores more often! And who can argue with that?!?!

Not sure what exactly this means, except, we were right about it being sick in some way!
Now the hard part - the clean up! Good job kiddos. They loved using the "chompers" to cut the smaller branches up.
