Jada and I made these this year. I had gotten the idea from the 'Neath the Wreath craft fair my mom and I go to each year. I like the idea of making my own from wood blocks, so I kept Jada home from school one day, and we worked on these. My dad had cut the wood and screwed them together for us a few days prior. The ones I'd seen at the craft fair did not at all look like this, except that they were made from 2x6s screwed and glued together the way these are. We came up with our own design though. Jada didn't really like the "antiqued" look we gave them, but we had stained the wood first, not thinking about it being stain for protecting wood. So, when we painted over it, the paint didn't stick that great, resulting in us antiquing them. I have to say, I quite like them - as does Trent. Way to go Jada and Mom!
