The Unicorn balloon was one I had ordered for her party last year, but with the ice storms we had, it didn't arrive at the house until after her birthday. So, I saved it for this year, and honestly, it made her morning. You'd have thought that was her present. It was really big, and she loved it so much!
This shot gives you an idea of how big it is. The "Happy Birthday" balloon is a regular sized foil balloon from the store.
Her birthday cake - a rainbow.
Instead of wasting the other half, I just made another one -a bit simpler, but still tasty. I used the leftover chocolate frosting from Levi's construction cake and then threw on some sprinkles. Both cakes were a major hit!
Obviously she was excited about her Digi-birds. It was the one thing she kept asking for - and she got them!
Her birthday breakfast... m&m waffles. Her unique twist on our traditional chocolate chip pancakes. Everyone loved these - of course!
This was something that was supposed to be a surprise, but she figured out what we were going to do. So, I took just her to Claire's at the Outlet mall and got her ears pierced. There was a darling little girl getting her ears re-pierced for whatever reason. She was 9 and all decked out for the occasion. She asked Jada if she was nervous. Jada sheepishly said, no, but I think the girl could tell she was a little. So the girl tells Jada, "oh, it only hurts a little bit and for just a second, and then you look beautiful like this" and she shows off her newly pierced ears. She was such a doll. I think it really boosted Jada's confidence. She was never going to back out, but I think she did get a little jittery. Well, she got them pierced and she didn't even cry. She is such a big girl. So, we walked around and since it was her birthday, we got a couple pair of earrings. Her first choices - big ol' hoop earrings. Mommy told her no to those - that is for when she is about 15. But we did find some unicorn "studs" that mommy let her get, and she was really excited about those. It wasn't until the car ride home that she complained just a little bit that her ears were hurting her. But, she braved it well and has never looked back since! Way to go princess! Happy Birthday - we hope you had a very special day. We love you so much and just can't believe the beautiful, amazing girl you are blossoming into!
