A Fun Filled Saturday

Saturday, December 13th (while not Jada's birthday) was another Saturday packed full of fun.  To start the morning off, we had our ward Christmas Breakfast.  It was AWESOME!!!!  We had a Pancake Buffet, where some of the men in our ward were given different stations to make different kinds of pancakes.  The stations were set up all around the gym in our church.  Then one both sides they had a spread of toppings for the pancakes.  And when I say spread, I mean spread - all sorts of candy, all sorts of different syrup flavors, marshmallows, whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles...  you name it, it was probably there.  And the most fun/creative part was the fondue fountain of maple syrup in the center of the room that "Buddy" from the movie ELF was manning.  And Buddy's favorite food is, of course, SYRUP.  So if you went to Buddy to get syrup, you ended up getting some pancakes with your syrup.  Buddy (who was Brother Mannewitz) was awesome.  He made the morning to so much fun for everyone there!  The room was decorated amazingly, and the pancakes were FANTASTIC.  I dare say, this may have been the very best Ward Christmas Breakfast that we've ever been too. It was a bummer, because we had to leave early due to a basketball game of Trey's.  Someone in charge of the program had asked us to do a little Christmas skit for the breakfast.  We practiced a little skit on the "meaning of the candy cane."  Had it all ready, and then realized we were going to have to leave before the presentation time.  So we had to back out and miss that part.  But we will be prepared if they do the same thing again next year, and ask us to be a part of it.

The Airbenders ended up losing the game, but it was a close one and the improvement of everyone on the team is now very, very apparent.  We didn't win the game according to the scoreboard, but every single one of the players was a winner today, because they played immensely better than they previously had.  Things are starting to "click" for the team!  Way to go Airbenders!!!

Lastly, this night was the father/daughter ball.  That is going to get it's own post though.
