This was the remains of the cherry tomato plant that I planted this year as an experiment. What a joke - this thing was worse than weeds! I only planted 1 of these plants, but it completely overtook and eventually killed my 3 other celebrity tomato plants, and most of my green pepper plants. What remained of the green pepper plants were all horizontal from being mulled by this bully of a plant. It was even worse than melon plants! Plus, aside from slow roasting them (which really were a treat and a fantastic snack) they were pretty much useless because we couldn't come close to eating nearly as many as was produced by this pervasive giant. I tried canning them once (see last blog) but that was a pain in the tooshie to try and blanche and peel all those cherry tomatoes (only to have Seth, the very next morning, break the 1 jar Trey I did the night before)!! Yep, it's official - no more cherry tomato plants in the Lofgren's garden!
