National Night Out

These were the only pictures I got of this night.  Trent mentioned that it is funny that we'd never heard of National Night Out until we moved to Texas.  Not sure why, but we hadn't.  Anyways, since we've been here though, it's gotten bigger.  It's actually a lot of fun.  This year, we went to my parent's subdivision first to say high to my Mom (who helps to plan and run the evening for her subdivision) and enjoy the different bounce house things she'd gotten for the evening.  They also had face painters there.  Jada and Seth were the first faces painted.  When the women were ready, they asked them if they wanted their faces painted.  So, Jada was a cat and Seth was a pirate - beard and all.  Aren't they amazing?  And what is even more amazing is that each of these was done in about 3 minutes tops!  I couldn't believe it, watching them.  These two women are seriously talented.

After staying at Mom's party for only about 30 minutes, we headed to ours for about 45 minutes.  We  had a big bounce slide, games, a food truck and a sno-cone truck.  Everything for free.  Now, I'm sure we pay for it in our HOA dues, but it really is a fun evening and it gets everyone in the neighborhood out meeting each other and socializing.  I guess I'm glad we actually do something for it here in Texas!
