WHAT??? That's right. Trey turned 8 March 17th, and was baptized April 12th, 2014. Oh my goodness, that is hard to believe isn't it? Hard to believe or not, it happened. And it was absolutely fantastic!
Never did get a picture of Trey by himself... didn't think of that one. Shucks. But, that's ok. We had a wonderful program and the spirit was so strong there. Sister Laurie Warren gave a wonderful talk to Trey about baptism. She gave him a white towel at the end to remember that even though we make mistakes and get dirty sometimes, we can always repent and "wash" ourselves and become white again. Daddy gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost. It was simple, concise and spirit filled. Trey really had a great day. Since I'm posting this late I'm going to add a little commentary about it. It seems as though, since the day he was baptized, Trey has really matured a lot. Almost as if he wants to live up to the expectations he feels are placed upon him now. He is gentler with his younger siblings - especially Seth and Levi. He wants to help me to help them whenever he gets a chance. He's more willing to help around the house. And he's just a bit more patient these days. Wow... can't beat that perk. But, Trey is much like his Mommy. He always wants to meet (or even exceed) any expectations placed upon him. That was why I had "investigated" the church so long. I think I knew all along while the missionaries were teaching me the discussions that I was going to be baptized. However, I hadn't committed right away because I wanted to know "everything" that would be expected of me before I did commit to a life changing decision. How glad I am though, that I did make the decision to be baptized. How blessed in countless ways ever since. And I know that Trey will be blessed in countless ways as he continues to live the gospel. Trey, we are so happy and so excited for you. You've made a choice and a decision that makes us so proud. Keep up that good decision making... you'll be glad you did! We love you so much!!!
