Rainy Day Off

I can't remember why, but for some reason, the kiddos had a Monday off in October.  Unfortunately, it was not great weather that day.  But, as I've mentioned before - rainy days scare us off.  We look for adventure on those days.  So, after going to the gym and running a couple errands (which included a fun stop at Cabella's for the kids to see the fish and animals), we picked up Trey's friend Wyatt and had him come over and play.  I had a few ideas of things we could do.  My first thought, was to have the kiddos help me bake sugar cookies for the ward Halloween party coming up.  The next thing was to make a little "course" of odds and ends things in the house (hopefully the picture helps make sense of that) and then in case we needed more to do, I thought about carving small pumpkins.  Well, we ended up having Ben and Luke Joyner over as well, so I had more help with making the cookies - which was a blast - and doing the "course" thing, which they ended up working in pairs to do.  Then, they played in the pouring rain, and we danced to Halloween music.  Then, when all the friends went home, we did our usual walk in the rain, by our pond again.
